At Marvel Homes, we believe that building a sustainable future starts with the homes we live in.
Our dedication to creating energy-efficient, climate-resilient, and healthy living environments has led to the nomination of our Warrawee Passive House for the 2024 Sustainable Building Award in the Single Dwelling (New) category. This recognition reflects our commitment to making certified Passive Houses not only accessible but also affordable for Australian families.
Nestled in the serene surroundings of Sydney’s Upper North Shore, the Warrawee Passive House is a true representation of our ‘Lean Passive House’ approach. This 305 sqm home, designed for a family of five, was built with precision and care, overcoming the challenges of a battleaxe site with a unique shape and sloped terrain. We worked closely with a team of dedicated professionals, including engineers, Passive House consultants, and town planners, to ensure that every aspect of the home met the highest standards of energy efficiency and comfort.
One of the standout features of the Warrawee Passive House is its air tightness level, achieving an impressive 0.41 ACH, and it is currently undergoing Passive House Plus certification.
One of the standout features of the Warrawee Passive House is its air tightness level, achieving an impressive 0.41 ACH, and it is currently undergoing Passive House Plus certification. This level of performance ensures that the home maintains a consistent, comfortable temperature year-round, significantly reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
With a budget of $1.15M (excluding landscaping and approvals), we’ve shown that building a high-performance Passive House doesn’t have to break the bank. Our innovative approach eliminates thermal bridging and integrates Passive House principles seamlessly into the design, making it possible to create a sustainable home that is both functional and affordable.
As we continue to push the boundaries of sustainable homebuilding, we are honored to have the Warrawee Passive House recognized for its contribution to a greener future. This nomination is not just a milestone for Marvel Homes but a step forward in our mission to make sustainable living a reality for more families across Sydney and beyond.
