A passive house design in Sydney is built to use far less energy while staying comfortable all year. It gets there through orientation, insulation, airtightness and proven detailing, not by leaning on heating and cooling to cover a poor envelope.
The air quality is the part most people notice first. A heat recovery ventilation system delivers a continuous flow of fresh, filtered air. Windows and doors are placed to bring in natural light without losing heat, and the envelope is detailed to remove the thermal bridges that let heat escape.
